Buildings, floors and units
Lay out a property's buildings, floors and units — with door numbers, PTINs and areas — so tenants can be assigned to the right space.
Overview
Property360 stores every property as Property → Building (optional) → Floor → Unit. A unit is the space you lease, such as a flat, shop, office or parking bay. You manage all of this in the Floors & Units section of Property Details.
Before you start
- Only landlords and master admins can add or change floors and units.
- For each floor, have its door number ready (required). The PTIN (property tax ID) and total square footage are useful too.
- You only need buildings if the property has more than one block. For a single block, skip buildings and add floors directly.
Steps
Add a building (optional)
- Open the property from Property Info.
- In Floors & Units, click Building.
- Enter a Building Name (for example "Tower A") and click Add Building.
- To add a floor inside that building, use the building's ⋮ menu and choose Add Floor.
Add a floor and its units in one go
- In Floors & Units, click Floor.
- Under Floor Details, choose the Floor: Cellar, Ground, Floor 1, Floor 2 and so on, or Penthouse. Add a Custom Label (for example "Mezzanine") and a Floor Address if you need them.
- Under Identifiers & Area, enter the Door Number (required), the PTIN and the floor's Square Footage.
- Under Units on this Floor, click Unit to add one row. To add several, enter a number in Qty (up to 50) and click Bulk add. Units are numbered for you: G, G-1, G-2 on the ground floor, 1, 1-1 on Floor 1, and so on. You can rename them.
- Set each unit's type and area, then click Create Floor + 4 units (the button shows how many units you are adding). A message confirms, for example, "Floor + 4 units created".
Add or edit a single unit
- On the floor row, click + Unit, or open a unit's ⋮ menu and choose Edit Unit.
- On the Unit Details tab, enter the Unit Number, Type (fixed to the property's type unless the property is Mixed) and the Unit Address.
- Under Identifiers & Area, you can enter a Door Number (optional) and a Unit PTIN (optional). Both override the floor's values. Leave them blank to use the floor's. Then enter the Area (sq.ft).
- Add Comments (optional) or an Asking Rent / Sq.ft (optional).
- Use the Tenant & Lease tab to assign a tenant, and the Electricity tab (available once the unit is saved) to record its USC and meter.
- Click Save. You will see "Unit created" or "Unit updated".
Example
Sunrise Towers is a single block. A. Sharma adds Ground with door number 8-2-110 and 2,400 sq.ft. She then uses Bulk add for 3 shops (G, G-1, G-2) of 800 sq.ft each. Next she adds Floor 1 with two offices. Acme Retail Pvt Ltd is assigned to G from that unit's Tenant & Lease tab.
FAQs
How is the property's structure described?
Property Info describes each property the Indian way, such as Cellar + G + 5 + Penthouse. A cellar or penthouse is a level, not a floor, so only the ground and upper floors count as floors.
Can one tenant lease units on different floors?
Yes. One lease can cover several units, even across floors. See Multi-unit leases.
Where do I see a unit's full history?
Open the unit's ⋮ menu and choose Lifecycle History.
Troubleshooting
"Door Number is required for the floor"
Enter the floor's door number under Identifiers & Area.
The unit's area won't save
The floor's units can't add up to more than the floor's square footage. See The floor area check.
The Electricity tab is missing
It appears only after the unit has been saved. Save the unit, then open it again.
