GST payments

Record full or partial GST payments for each landlord-month, attach challans and receipts, and keep track of what is still due.

Updated 16 Oct 2026

Overview

GST Payments holds one record per landlord per month. Property360 creates and updates each record automatically from that month's GST invoices. The only thing you enter is what was paid. Each record shows the GST payable, broken down by property, what has been paid, what is outstanding, the due date and a status: Pending, Partially paid, Paid or Overdue.

Before you start

  • GST invoices must already exist for the month. Records appear as soon as GST invoices are generated.
  • Landlords and master admins can record payments. A CA can view records and receipts.
  • Keep the challan details (CPIN, CIN or UTR) and the challan PDF or receipt to hand.

Steps

  1. Open GST Dashboard → GST Payments in the sidebar.
  2. Set the period with Financial year or Calendar year, and optionally Month, Landlord and Property.
  3. Use the status tabs (All, Outstanding, Overdue, Pending, Partially paid, Paid) or the search box to find the month you need.
  4. Click Pay on the row, or open the row's ⋮ menu and choose Record payment….
  5. In Record GST payment, check the GST payable and Outstanding figures. Amount paid is filled in with the outstanding balance, and you can change it.
  6. Enter the Payment date, the Challan / CPIN / CIN / UTR and the Mode (for example Net banking or Electronic cash ledger). Add a Note if needed.
  7. Under Challan / receipt, upload the challan or the bank receipt.
  8. Click Record payment. The message tells you whether the month is now fully paid or how much remains.
  9. To review a month, click its row. The detail window has tabs for Invoices, Payments, Receipts and Audit trail.
Note:A payment within ₹1 of the liability counts as paid. If more than the liability is paid, the extra is shown as a credit.

Example

For September, A. Sharma's GST on invoices for Sunrise Towers and Lakeview Plaza is ₹54,000. A. Sharma pays ₹30,000 on 18 October and records it. The month shows Partially paid with ₹24,000 outstanding. After 20 October, it shows Partial · overdue until the rest is recorded.

FAQs

Do I need to create GST payment records myself?

No. Records are created and kept up to date when GST invoices are generated or deleted. Generating the same month again never creates a duplicate.

Can I record more than one payment for a month?

Yes. Each payment is a separate entry with its own date and reference. The status and balance are recalculated after each one.

What does "verified in the GST cash ledger" mean on a payment?

If GST Reconciliation is in use, a deposit confirmed from the GST portal can be added automatically. It only covers what your own entries do not already cover, so nothing is counted twice.

Can I export the list?

Yes. Export downloads exactly the rows in view as a CSV file, including references and receipt counts.

Troubleshooting

A month is missing

Check the period filters. If the month still doesn't appear, no GST invoice exists for that landlord and month.

The payable amount changed

Invoices for the month were added, corrected or deleted. Click Recalculate to rebuild every month from the current invoices.

I recorded a payment by mistake

Open the month, go to the Payments tab and delete the entry. The deletion is recorded in the Audit trail.
